I believe I can record via BeyondTV into Mpeg 2 format and then stream to my TV. I understand that Win MCE 2005 doesn't support QAM but beyond TV may. I need to stream whatever I record from my Windows Media Center Edition 2005 R2 machine to my Win Media Center extender (Xbox 360 and/or other Win media Extender) in either standard def or HD when applicable. #HD PVR 2 SOFTWARE VS WINTV FULL#therefore I need full screen capabilities at highest resolution possible.Īccuracy in scheduling (based on internet available TV schedule data) and quality of recording (Resolution, etc) is important. I stream from my Windows 2005 MCE rollup 2 machine to my XBox 360 (Win MC Extender) on my TV. #HD PVR 2 SOFTWARE VS WINTV SOFTWARE#I need software that can record at the resolution of the incoming signal, eventually full HD. Where does it compare to the WinTV app that comes with the Hauppauge cards? I haven't seen any specifics on the capabilities of the SageTV of BeyondTV Applications and the Hauppauge cards. I want to build a PVR out of my Windows MCE 2005 Rollup 2 machine so I can record the 2010 Winter Olympics and them some. #HD PVR 2 SOFTWARE VS WINTV ARCHIVE#Comcast charges too much for their DVR plus I can't archive recordings from their DVR for future viewing. Currently we have Comcast Standard but are considering upgrading to Comcast Digital. Just no HDMI support.I'm setting up a PVR based on a Windows MCE 2005 Rollup 2 edition and a Hauppauge 1600, 1850 or 2250 card. Granted, the 1212 takes a lot of fiddling to get it working flawlessly, but once you have it, it works as advertised. Hence the lack of integration with WMC, etc. And, judging from the responses I get from tech support, this wasn't really meant for recording television. For recording television off of a set-top box, it's just not ready. Getting it to record from the optical input is difficult and - for some reason - it falls back to stereo audio, even when the STB is outputting 5.1.įor gamers wanting to capture game play, it's a great machine. Also, the WinTV software doesn't play nice with Windows 7 64bit. So, I'm left to setting "reminders" on the cable box so the channel changes. The included IR blaster doesn't have a code set that works with this rather ubiquitous STB. I have the PVR-2 hooked to a Moto cable box. Far easier to make it live with a recording program other than WinTV. That said, I recommend you drop back and get the older PVR-1212. You should probably ask this in the HTPC areas since that's where all of the Hauppauge talk lives. It doesn't hardly any PC usage whilst running AND it has StreamEez (our own streaming software) built in which also doesn't have high PC usage unlike other streaming software such as XSplit. I would suggest downloading our new software, Hauppauge Capture.
